Guide to Palmanova Mallorca

Palmanova

Palmanova is located in the municipality of Calvià and is a lovely seaside resort with a wide, shallow bay and three good beaches: Son Maties, Na Nadala and Es Carregador, and a small marina on the Son Caliu side of the bay.  The town lies in the heart of the popular south-west region and is a good location for various excursions around Mallorca.

The resort remains active all-year-round which makes it a popular choice for permanent residents.  You can drive to Palma in 10-15 minutes and there are excellent amenities available for food shopping and healthcare.

Palma Nova attracts a good deal of the ex-pat population in the winter months and is lively in summer, but not noisy or boisterous.  The town is not as expensive as the nearby Puerto Portals and as such is more affordable than many areas in Mallorca.

This is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a beach holiday, but it also enjoys a great location to access some of Mallorca’s most beautiful nature parks and extensive golf facilities.  There are several golf courses in neighbouring Santa Ponsa and Cala Vinyes.

The Tramuntana mountain range, also in south-west Mallorca, attracts many hikers and bikers, particularly in the cooler months. If you are exploring, be sure to leave some time to check out the Caves of Drach and the natural beauty of La Reserva Puig Galatzo.

A real family favourite, there’s plenty of local attractions such as the award-winning Katmandu Park, packed with slides, water playgrounds and a 4D cinema.
